Simco Fmx002 Manual |link| Full -
Uses two integrated LED guide lights to ensure the meter is positioned exactly 1 inch (25.4 mm) from the surface for accurate measurements.
Proper care will ensure the longevity and accuracy of your FMX002.
Before first use, open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit and install a new 9V (6F22) manganese battery. The instrument has been calibrated for a measuring distance of 25 mm ±0.5 mm (1 inch), and the two guide LEDs on the front of the unit are specifically designed to converge into a single point on the surface of the object at this exact distance. It is crucial never to tamper with the sensor or guiding LEDs, as this will permanently alter the measuring distance and invalidate all readings.
The manual states clearly: The FMX-002 should be calibrated every 12 months. simco fmx002 manual full

In addition to measuring static charges on surfaces, the FMX-002 can be used to measure the residual offset voltage (ion balance) of ionization equipment such as ionizing bars and fans. For this, the optional ion balance measurement plate (a small metal plate) must be attached to the front of the unit.
Understanding the technical boundaries of the FMX-002 ensures accurate data collection and prevents internal circuit damage.
