Season 2 sees Lincoln as a fugitive, still wanted for Steadman's murder even though Michael has proven his innocence. He's hunted by the FBI, by the Company, and by former prison guards Brad Bellick and Roy Geary hunting him for money buried in Utah. Lincoln survives shootouts, car chases, and a near-fatal strangulation attempt by Agent Paul Kellerman, only to be saved at the last second by his father Aldo Burrows in Season 1, Episode 19, "The Key".
Lincoln’s initial threat is entirely legal. Framed for the murder of Terence Steadman, the brother of the Vice President, Lincoln is sentenced to death by electrocution.
