The "Sax Move" is a sensual dance gesture that involves moving one's hips, arms, and upper body in a rhythmic, seductive manner, often to music with a strong beat. The move is characterized by a distinctive hip swiveling motion, accompanied by a fluid arm movement that adds to the overall sensuality of the performance. The "Sax Move" has become a popular phrase in Indian pop culture, often referenced in songs, dance tracks, and social media platforms.
: Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have played a crucial role in popularizing the 'Sax Move.' Many users share their interpretations of the dance move, contributing to its viral status.
[Bridge] Am - F - G - C Saxophone: Play a short, melancholic phrase using the C major scale Drum machine/percussion: Mute the sound, focus on a simple, atmospheric pad Bass line: Freezes on a single note (C) hindi sax sax move
Arguably the most famous saxophonist in Bollywood history. A key assistant to R.D. Burman, Singh’s alto saxophone riffs defined the sound of an entire era. His smooth phrasing and ability to bend notes to mimic Indian classical meend (glissando) made his style unmistakable.
The "sax move" phenomenon has undoubtedly left a mark on Indian cinema, influencing how intimacy and romance are depicted on screen. It has become a recognizable trope that audiences can quickly identify, often leading to a mix of reactions ranging from nostalgia to criticism. The "Sax Move" is a sensual dance gesture
The 'Sax Move' has had a significant impact on Indian cinema, particularly in the way romantic scenes are portrayed on screen. The trope has become a cliché, with many films incorporating similar scenes to evoke a sense of nostalgia and romance. However, this has also led to criticism, with some arguing that the 'Sax Move' has become a tired and overused trope, lacking originality and depth.
The saxophone, as a symbol of Western culture, adds an element of exoticism and sophistication to these scenes, highlighting the tensions between traditional Indian values and modernity. The "Sax Move" has also been seen as a reflection of India's growing liberalization and increasing exposure to global cultural influences. : Platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube have
Modern Bollywood heroes are often clean-shaven, morally upright, and gym-toned. The "Sax Sax" aesthetic belongs to the Villain or the Side Hero of the 80s—the guy with the leather jacket, the mustache, and the cigarette. Gen Z finds this retro "anti-hero" aesthetic refreshingly honest.
These modern interpretations show how the saxophone's cultural footprint has expanded, adding layers of meaning to the simple act of "playing the sax."

Detail when you need it. Unlike other mainstream GPU codecs, NotchLC uses variable block size and variable control point bit levels to provide extra detail while allowing greater compression in areas of flatter colours.
NotchLC breaks colour data down into luma and chroma (YUV). 12bits of depth are assigned to luma data, as in many scenarios this is where bit depth is most perceivable. 8bits are assigned to each of the U & V channels.
Rather than specify target bitrates and end up with undetermined quality outcomes, NotchLC takes the reverse approach: during encoding you set a quality level, and the encoder uses the most compression it can while preserving it.
Utilising the modern SSIM measurement method, NotchLC delivers the high-quality results that are needed to be qualified as an intermediary codec. Don’t take our word for it though — read what dandelion + burdock writes in their big, independent 10bit codec test.

Talk to any content creator about codecs and you’ll find encoding times, right at the top of the list of concerns. NotchLC utilises the full power of the GPU to massively accelerate the encoding process.
NotchLC utilises the full power of the GPU to massively accelerate the encoding process. On a consumer PC, encoding can be up to 5.7x faster than realtime at 1080p24. As an example, we encoded the Open Source movie “Big Buck Bunny” (duration 09:57) in just 1 min and 44 secs.
In a CPU codec, the CPU decodes the image and sends the huge raw frames up to the GPU. The secret sauce of a GPU codec is that compressed frames are uploaded and the GPU does the decode. The compressed frames are much smaller in size allowing vastly more video to be passed through the PCI-e bus.
Typically you will see compression ratios of around 5:1 on motion graphics content when compared to raw video. You’ll be able to dial in your final file size by using the encoder’s Quality Level (see the manual).
